Ice Storm 2009

Carson was mad about something and did not want to be outside
Kesley loved it she just sat there babbling and smiling :)

Heres what my patio table looks like with all the ice on it

Look at how thick the ice is on the branches!!! If this were MN the roads would have already been plowed, sanded/salted and school WOULD not be canceled.

So we got a major ice storm it started Monday night and did not end until last night. School was canceled yesterday, today and tommorrow. Which I don't see why tomorrow I mean I know the ice is going to freeze back up but I would think that the roads would be plowed and sanded enough that it should be ok.
We lost power yesterday morning for about 45 min or so and then again last night for about 2 hours. Good thing we have a gas fireplace it got a little cold in here!

Acitivity Table and other misc stuff

I ventured out after Jim woke up (he is home sick) to grab some groceries for the icy weather tomorrow and I came home(after driving very, very slow the car had a spin out but I was able to get it under control ) and went up to the twins room to get their new pjs (they have been in their pjs from last night all day) and I found Kelsey's mobile destroyed. She had different pieces of it all over the room (I am surprised Daddy didnt see that when he was up there). I didnt have my camera so I took a pic of it before I threw it away. Man the kid is brutal already destroying things :) she has taken it apart before and pulled the top off but never actually broken it until today...
Dunning stopped by this weekend, he and Carson were trying to get up the stairs. Thats Carsons new thing is to climb up the first step and make sure the gate is shut behind him then crawl up the stairs. Of course with mommy behind him :)

Here are Carson, Lynn and Dunning
On Friday Jim and I ordered the twins an acitivity table. I mentioned to Jim that I wanted to start looking at garage sales this spring or at WM for an activity table for them. So I can put it in the kitchen or wherever and they can eat, color etc.... we found it on WM.com and it was 1/2 price so even better. We did the site to store shipping so we don't have to pay for shipping and we also ordered 2 additional chairs since the table only comes with 2. That way when little friends like Dunning, Thomas, Isabella etc come over they can play (when they get older and will sit still in the chairs). Jim liked this table not only for the price but because it can be folded up and put away (so he doesnt have to look at it all the time).

On Saturday I went ahead and ordered their new front facing car seats from Sears, they had 5.00 off I still had to pay tax and shipping (shipping was cheaper then tax) imagine that. They should be here next week, I am really excited. Now the twins will be able to look forward in the car and will be able to look out the windows better. I like it because I have one of those conversation mirrors below my rear view mirror so I can talk to them and see them at the sametime.

Saturday night we went to Ruth's Chris steakhouse or neighbor Kristie turned 40 so her hubby had invited some friends to eat. We only had to pay for drinks since he picked up the food (WHICH WAS COOL) since that place is way expensive. I had to pick my mom up at the airport by midnight since she is retiring from the airlines and needed to come and pick up some photo albums of us as kids since she doesnt have to pay to check bags and once she retires she will have to pay. So she was only really here 1 full day (yesterday) then I dropped her off at the airport this morning. I wonder what she will do with all of her time when she retires, she doesn't own a computer (which is probably a good thing since they are addicting) , cell phone or have cable tv (which she may have to get).

Jim has that nasty stomach bug going around (or something to that affect) and stayed home from work today. I dont feel that great right now either, hopefully the babies dont get sick. I have been disinfecting everything after Jim has been touching it so hopefully I can kill the germies before they attack.

Kelsey Walking

Miss Kelsey Belsey really is loving to walk with the Lion now, she really could have cared less in the beginning plus she never had the chance because Carson was always using it. Both Carson and Kelsey love playing in the kitchen drawers where I have my tupperware. It keeps them busy and now I just wait until they go to bed at night to clean it up (since I clean it up and then they would take it out again). I will post that picture later on, my laptop is almost dead and I cant plug it in right now because the twins will try and play with the cord.

Carson Walking

My baby boy has I think gotten the "walking" thing. He has been taking steps here and there and this is the only time where he has done it long enough and a lot of times for me to get video.

Carson has a fascination with closets, anytime we are holding him we have him go up to a door and close it (if its not closed all the way) I have a habit of leaving the pantry door cracked open.
Kelsey climbed up on the fireplace ledge on Thursday she really didn'y do it yesterday so maybe it was a one time deal. Regardless I have to get all of the rocks out of the fireplace today so we dont have any choking accidents.

We just got our house in PEA RIDGE rented, a lady came yesterday to look at it and I gave her the paperwork. WE told her today she could have it if she paid us a deposit, so she did. She and her husband are getting divorced and its her and her son that will be living there so they are starting from scratch (so if the rent is too much for her after she gets in) we will be willing to work with her on that. Her son is a Jr at PEA Ridge HS and works all the time its not like she has to pay to take care of babies etc... It feels good to rent it and help her out to someone who really needs to rent and will take care of it.

Gymboree Birthday Party

I tired to get him when he started through the tube but he was to quick

He was chasing the balloon around the whole time!

We got invited to Taylor's 2nd birthday at Gymboree on Saturday. Taylor is a neighbor girl, it was fun the babies liked it. I liked it because we didn't have to bring a gift for the party. Her birthday is the 3rd of January and because it is so close to Christmas I am assuming her parents get her enough stuff that they didn't want her getting any gifts.

The lady from Gymboree came to the library story time a few weeks ago to give us a presentation on Gymboree and what they do etc.. How to join, which we won't be doing since it is very expensive. There is a new place called the Little Gym off of Pleasant Grove that does the same thing we may check that out. Right now the twins are in enough stuff with MDO, swimming and maybe some tumbling classes when they hit the right age.

So long

On Monday I decided to list our jumperoo, swing, bouncer and tummy time mat on Craigslist. (I have a neighbor who buys stuff off their all the time) so I thought its free to list I figured I would try it. Within 30 min of posting my stuff I had an email from a girl in Oklahoma wanting to buy it all from me for 120.00 I told her yes and I also had an exersaucer that I wanted to sell for 10.00 (which is what I paid Carla for it). They picked everything up today!!! her brother and sister in law are having girl/ boy twins in Feburary in Texas and they were going there tomorrow and she wanted to surprise her with all of this. She wanted to get her all of the stuff but knew that buying it all brand new was going to be expensive so it was a fluke that she found all of my stuff on there and it matched. Her brother is in Afghanistan so her sister in law is doing this alone for awhile (I got distracted with the twins) and didnt ask her when he was coming back. Apparently her mom is coming to help so she should be in good hands!

It's out of my house and way and I don't have to wait until the neighborhood garage sale in May to sell it. I will miss all of the items and they brought back memories but since they became mobile they didn't like being in them and it was a battle and they were just taking up space. IF we ever had another child (probably not) however everyone I see that has twins say they had 1 more after the twins were like 2 then I will buy the stuff or borrow it from someone. Someone told me they kept all of their stuff and by the time the 2nd kid came they wanted different stuff since the design or pattern was old or what not.

I still have a cold and my voice comes and goes, I guess if I am not better next week I will have to go to the dr when the babies are at school on Wed. A couple of my neighbors have had strep (Which I thought maybe I had) but my sore throat comes and goes so I dont think its strep plus with strep you usually have a fever or feel really weak. Who knows I just cant seem to shake whatever I have. We stayed home lastnight, there was a neighborhood New Years party but Jim came home from work not feeling well and I was too tired to go we were asleep by 10 so we would not have been any fun. I have not seen any movement at the Crouch house across the street which leads me to believe it was a late night.

Our neighbor Boddie turns 40 today and we are going to PF CHANGS for dinner to celebrate just Boddie, Jill, Kathy, Michael, Carolyn (Michaels sister) and Jim and I. Mikel and Lynn are coming over to watch the twins so we wont have to find a babysitter. Boddie has no clue so it should be a good time.
